Logging in to Plesk
You log in to Plesk via the control panel address from your welcome email — usually your domain name followed by port 8443 — with the username and password you received from your hosting provider.
What is Plesk?
Plesk is the control panel for your hosting: the place where you arrange everything to do with your website and email without technical commands. There you manage email addresses, files, databases, backups and security certificates, among other things. You can read exactly what hosting involves in what is web hosting.
Logging in step by step
- Look up the welcome email from your hosting provider. It contains the address of the panel, your username and your password.
- Open the panel address in your browser. That is usually
https://uwdomein.nl:8443, or a server name with that same port 8443 after it. - Do you see a warning about the secure connection? Then check that you have copied the address exactly, including
https://and the port number. - Enter your username and password and confirm.
- If two-factor authentication is set up, also enter the code from your authentication app.
After logging in you arrive at the dashboard. The sections you will need most often are Websites & Domains (files, certificates, settings) and Email (email addresses).
Forgotten password
The login page has a link for resetting your password. There you enter the email address linked to your Plesk account and you will receive a message allowing you to choose a new password. If that does not work, for example because the linked address no longer exists, your hosting provider can reset the account.
Lost the login address?

Logging in safely
- Use a unique, long password that you do not use anywhere else, and store it in a password manager.
- Switch on two-factor authentication if it is available.
- Do not log in on a public or shared device.
- Do not share your main account; it is better to have a separate account created for someone else.
