With webmail you simply read and send your email in your browser, without having to set up an email program — handy when you are out and about or on a device that is not your own.
What is webmail?
Webmail is an email program that runs on the server and that you operate via a web page. You log in and see your inbox. You can read, reply to, compose and organise messages in folders.
Because everything stays on the server, you see the same messages as in the email program on your computer or phone.
How to log in
- 1Go to the webmailOpen in your browser
https://webmail.uwdomein.nl, or use your hosting provider's Webmail button. - 2Enter your full email addressIn the username field, so including the part after the @.
- 3Enter the password of that mailboxThat is not your Plesk password, unless they happen to be the same.
- 4Confirm to log inYou go straight to your inbox.

What can you do in webmail?
Read, reply to, forward and delete messages.
Compose new messages, with attachments.
Create folders and organise your mail. You will also see those folders on your other devices.
Set a signature that appears at the bottom of your messages.
Set an out-of-office message or automatic reply.
Keep your contacts up to date.
The exact buttons differ per webmail program; often it is Roundcube. The layout is always the same: folders on the left, the message list in the middle and the opened message next to it or below it.
Webmail or an email program?
You can use both side by side.
Ideal for in between
- When you want to look something up quickly, are on holiday or are working on a borrowed computer.
- There is nothing to install.
More pleasant for every day
- On your own computer or phone.
- Responds faster and gives notifications.
- Also keeps mail available offline.
Because everything syncs via IMAP, your mailbox stays the same in both cases.
Points to watch
- On a public computerAlways log out properly, and do not tick “stay signed in”.
- Check the address barDoes the address start with https://? Then your connection is encrypted.
- Error message when logging in?Then check that you are using the full email address.
- Mailbox full?Clear out large attachments. Otherwise new mail will no longer come in.
