Using webmail
With webmail you simply read and send your email in your browser, without having to set up an email program — handy when you are out and about or on a device that is not your own.
What is webmail?
Webmail is an email program that runs on the server and that you operate through a web page. You log in and see your mailbox, and you can read, reply to, compose and file messages in folders. Because everything stays on the server, you see the same messages as in the email program on your computer or phone.
How to log in
- In your browser, go to
https://webmail.uwdomein.nl, or use the Webmail button from your hosting provider. - For the username, enter your full email address , including the part after the @.
- Enter the password for that mailbox. That is not your Plesk password, unless the two happen to be the same.
- Confirm to log in. You go straight to your inbox.
If you do not have a mailbox yet, create one first by following creating an email address in Plesk.
What can you do in webmail?
- Read, reply to, forward and delete messages.
- Compose new messages, with attachments.
- Create folders and organise your mail; you will see those folders on your other devices too.
- Set a signature that appears at the bottom of your messages.
- Set an out-of-office message or automatic reply.
- Keep your contacts up to date.
The exact buttons differ from one webmail program to another — often it is Roundcube — but the layout is always the same: folders on the left, the message list in the middle and the opened message beside or below it.
Webmail or an email program?
Both can be used side by side. Webmail is ideal when you want to look something up quickly, are on holiday or are working on a borrowed computer: there is nothing to install. An email program on your own computer or phone is nicer for daily use, because it responds faster, gives notifications and keeps mail available offline as well. Because everything synchronises via IMAP, your mailbox stays the same in both cases.
Points to watch
- On a public computer, always log out properly and do not tick “stay signed in”.
- Check that the address in the bar starts with
https://, so that your connection is encrypted. - If you get an error when logging in, check that you are using the full email address.
- Clear out large attachments if your mailbox is filling up; otherwise new mail will no longer come in.

InnoDIGI clients can log in directly through our webmail page. If you no longer know the address or the password for your mailbox, it can be reset from the control panel; see logging in to Plesk.
