01Powerful hardware
Atlas runs on dedicated servers: machines that are entirely available to us. They are equipped with AMD EPYC processors, hundreds of gigabytes of RAM and terabytes of fast NVMe storage. The servers are connected via a 10GE connection (10 Gigabit Ethernet). This ensures lightning-fast data transfer and minimal delay (latency).
02Leaseweb AMS-01 data centre
The Atlas platform is located in the Leaseweb AMS-01 data centre in Amsterdam, one of the most reliable and best-connected data centres in the Netherlands. The data centre runs on 100% renewable energy. That fits with our ambition to offer digital services as sustainably as possible.

03Proxmox VE as the foundation
As our virtualisation platform we chose Proxmox VE: an open-source hypervisor that combines KVM and LXC. A hypervisor divides a physical server into multiple virtual servers. This lets us deploy virtual machines and containers flexibly, allocate capacity dynamically and guarantee high availability.

04Silent migration completed
All existing clients have now been migrated to the new platform without interruption. We deliberately carried out the transition quietly: the only thing clients should notice is a faster and more stable website.
