Huisartsenpraktijk de Makroon secure online, without a CMS
A new bilingual website for a GP practice in central Amsterdam: without a CMS, without plug-ins and housed in one all-in package.
The practice is part of the Makroon Medisch Centrum, which has several websites. They all ran on WordPress, until at some point they were hacked by malicious parties.

About this project
Huisartsenpraktijk de Makroon is an NHG-accredited GP practice in the Makroon Medisch Centrum, close to the Leidseplein. Besides the GP practice, the centre has more websites, including that of the Amsterdam Travel Clinic. All those sites ran on WordPress.
At some point they were hacked by malicious parties. For a healthcare provider that weighs heavily: patients need to be able to trust that the information is correct and that the site is safe to visit.
The question: a secure solution as part of an all-in package, with a new design without a CMS.
That is why the practice did not opt for yet another security plug-in, but for a different approach. We redesigned and rebuilt the site as a website without a CMS: no admin area, no database and no plug-ins that constantly need updating or can be exploited.
Visitors find what they are looking for straight away: booking an appointment, registering as a new patient, the opening hours and the emergency number. For hosting, maintenance and changes the practice has one fixed point of contact.
